TOSCA Testsuite™ offers powerful and extensive steering capabilities for various technologies. In many cases however, developers create custom controls which cannot be steered out-of-the-box by TOSCA Testsuite™. Therefore, TRICENTIS offers training workshops that cover how to develop the steering of custom controls. We also offer the development of these steerings by our implementation team.
How long does it take to create an average test case in TOSCA Testsuite™?
Experiences show that TOSCA Testsuite™ allows to automate a simple process (e.g. to create a new customer) in approximately half an hour. This includes creating the modules (containing the steering information), adding the modules to the test case (creating the test steps) and adding the input and verification data to the test steps. The resulting test case fully meets the principles of Business Dynamic Steering!
How many TOSCA Testsuite™ versions are released per year?
We plan 2 major and up to 4 minor TOSCA Testsuite™ releases per year.
In which languages is TOSCA available?
The standard product is available in German and English. TOSCA users are able to switch between these two languages at any time. Further languages are available upon request.
Is previous knowledge required?
One of the advantages of the TOSCA Testsuite is that testers do not necessarily need any programming skills. A good basic technical knowledge of computers and common operating systems is all you need. TRICENTIS offers training courses with and without certification to present you with the scope of services of the TOSCA Testsuite. Quality control managers must have quality management skills since this is the only way to achieve excellent results.
Is the data in TOSCA Testsuite™ versioned and revision-proof?
TOSCA Testsuite™ allows complete versioning of all objects of the test repository and is fully revision-proof. You can find detailed information here.
Is there a user concept in TOSCA Testsuite™?

In TOSCA Testsuite™, screens including their steering information are saved as modules. You only have to scan the screens once and then you can use the module for the test cases as often as required. If the screen is modified, the modifications can be adapted at one central position. TOSCA offers a powerful synchronize functionality, which allows to scan screens again and to compare the differences comfortably with a mouse click.
What are the system requirements my computer must meet?
TOSCA Testsuite™ runs on almost all 32bit systems starting with Windows XP. You can find the exact system requirements for TOSCA Testsuite™ as well as surrounding systems such as databases here.
What does TOSCA Testsuite™ cost?
TOSCA Testsuite™ is made up of several parts and can additionally be extended by various AddIns. The price of TOSCA Testsuite™ depends on the actual package and the number of licenses. Where do I get the latest versions and patches?
Please note that we do not automatically distribute new TOSCA Testsuite™ versions and patches. Customers with a valid service level agreement can request the current versions and patches anytime from TRICENTIS Support. The TOSCA Testsuite™ versions and patches are available to our customers as downloads on a separate platform.
Which databases are supported?
TOSCA Testsuite™ can be used with a file or database based repository. Especially in large-scale projects, we recommend using high-performance databases for the repository. A list of the currently supported databases can be found under the system requirements.
Which technologies does TOSCA Testsuite™ support?
TOSCA Testsuite™ allows to steer a wide range of technologies. You can find an exact and current list of supported technologies here.
Which test methods can be used?
The TOSCA Testsuite supports automated, manual and mixed test methods for both, GUI and non-GUI tests. In addition, TOSCA makes testing across a variety of technologies possible.
Which training courses do I need?
Testers should at least attend the TOSCA Certified User Foundation Level and TOSCA Certified User Advanced Level training courses. TOSCA users are then familiar with the interface, the functionalities and the concept of TOSCA and thus able to start testing. TRICENTIS also offers further training courses for test managers and administrators.
