Automated non-GUI software testing

More than just an option

If business functions can be emulated via non-graphical (non-GUI), open interfaces of the system to be tested, this access, as a rule, is characterized by short test durations and enables high precision tests. However, non-GUI interfaces are hard to understand in a business-based way . Until now they have only been run by technical experts.

TOSCA serves you in two ways:

• Operation of the interfaces is automated (request generation, response checking, etc.).
• Automated tests are defined, as usual, at a business-based level – what was once only a matter for technicians can thus be covered by experts from the business unit, too.

Examples of the protocols/interfaces already supported: web services, the EDIFACT standard, any fixed-length text structures (for WebSphere MQ, etc.), and IDocs for SAP.

Especially for the energy sector, a solution is available for the EDI@energy message format (TOSCA@energy).
