How to Customize and Add New Fields

To customize your project field settings and values, select the Field Settings option, and then choose which qTest artifact you wish to configure. Here, I’m adding a new combo box for my test case artifact. I can make this field type searchable within qTest through a specific keyword or by allowing free text searching. To make sure my team leverages this field, I can make it required and set a default value.

We also give the option to preview the changes you’ve made before you make it live for your project. We can also change and add values to system fields, such as the test run status. Here, I’m adding a new status and color scheme to indicate my test execution status when performing test runs.

The ability to change system values or add custom values empowers project admins to customize their projects per their specific business processes.
