The year of the Goat is coming to an end and another Chinese New Year is fast approaching. Tricentis is looking forward to all the testing possibilities the year of the Monkey may bring. 

According to the Chinese calendar, the year of the Monkey will be favorable for those who keep up with the lightning fast pace of the market and are constantly on the edge of new innovations.  Monkeys have been characterized as agile and intelligent, so this year will bring a lot of growth within the testing community. Change is also expected during the year of the Monkey, making it a great year for manual testers to break free and take calculated risks by becoming test automation experts.

It’s the start of a new year and a new opportunity to complete all the open-ended projects you began at the end of last year. Coming back from vacation will result in clear new eyes to help find unexpected solutions to old problems. Look into automated testing, a solution that may free up time and money for new and more exciting projects!

You generally have a good sense of what you want out of life, but it’s easy for you to get too caught up in the big picture and lose focus on the day-to-day details. This year, be sure to avoid the maintenance trap. For larger testing projects that are in a constant state of flux, don’t waste your time by testing the entire application all over again, just re-scan and update the test case you need.

Don’t rush into partnerships this year. A lot of money and fortune may be headed your way, but big testing projects mean a strong team and the need for continuous testing. QA and Software Testing should be a priority in any project you take on this year.

Monkeys, this is your year. This is a favorable year for all monkeys and it is a good time to encourage change for the better. It may seem like budgeting your finances is harder this year. Things just don’t seem to add up and the projects you are working on feel like they’ve been dragging on and draining your allocated budgets. It might be easier for you to look into testing tools where automation doesn’t require outsourcing fancy automation specialists.

You like stability and living in comfort. You’ve also mastered your job because you’re detail-oriented and a perfectionist. If you like the idea of creating order out of madness, test case design might be interesting for you. Taking test cases and prioritizing them in a manner that sorts and tests them based on highest risk? That sounds like a job for you.

Your goal this year is very clear. You are in charge of making sure that the new ERP system your company is implementing will work – in its entirety. Integrating systems without interrupting daily business may sound daunting, but as long as you are continuously testing end-to-end, that ERP system will help, not hinder you.
