Keynote | Software Testing Post-COVID-19

While several countries start easing the lockdowns established with COVID-19, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development calls COVID-19 the “greatest disruption to global economic activity since the Second World War.” The U.S. economy already deals with the highest number of unemployed citizens since the Great Depression of 1930. The impact of COVID-19 puts an unprecedented pressure on enterprises, particularly from a cost perspective, and emphasizes the need for speed, efficiency and digital transformation more than ever. What consequences should we expect from a software testing perspective? Which trends do we see emerging even faster? And how does Tricentis help its customers, especially in and after COVID-19? We’ll answer these questions and more in this keynote.

How Experian Modernized a Legacy Test Suite for Advanced Automation

Switching automation tools or modernizing automated test cases at a Global 2000 organization is complicated by the quantity and quality of test cases that need to be migrated, improved, or even left aside. Experian was tasked with migrating an automated regression test suite that was built years ago, required a lot of maintenance and manual intervention, and was not stable at all. Join Braulio as he shares their migration experience, strategies, and lessons learned. He will address both technical challenges (number of test cases migrated, team involved during development, timeframe and phases for migration, dynamic data handling) and non-technical challenges (data management, technical resources, becoming agile, Continuous Testing, maturity, etc.).

LiveCompare, Not Hypercare: How to Accelerate SAP Updates and Ensure Zero-Defect Releases

In real-world SAP release cycles, key users bear the brunt of the testing burden. In this session, Chris will show how best-in-class organization use AI-powered smart impact analysis to make their testing more efficient, so they can release to production with zero defects and eliminate the need for hypercare altogether.

Testing, Deep and Shallow

One of the most fundamental questions you can ask about testing is “Did I test that?” But there isn’t a binary answer to that question. We know when we haven’t tested at all, but there is no such thing as infinite testing. We test in different ways, at different times, in different situations, for different reasons. And so, responsible testers must be able to reason about and assess the relative depth of their testing.

This talk is how to think about testing depth. We’re not simply thinking about structural depth unit testing, sub-system testing, system testing, or end-to-end testing. Instead, we’re talking about the thoroughness of testing — and the capacity of testing to find elusive bugs that matter.
