SAP testing is full of challenges, from complex migration processes to inefficient testing strategies. Tricentis LiveCompare mitigates these challenges by providing SAP teams with AI-powered analytics and insights that significantly reduce the risk, time, and cost of delivering and supporting changes to SAP solutions. LiveCompare’s latest release offers new enhancements to help our customers overcome these obstacles. Let’s explore how the 2023.3 update addresses common pain points in SAP testing.

Simulated Impact Analysis for new users

Understanding the intricacies of impact analysis in SAP environments can be daunting, especially without the benefit of a live SAP environment. Now new users can learn and experiment in a simulated environment using the Smart Impact Learning app. The app simulates a run of the Smart Impact app by generating reports from sample data stored in External Data sources. This hands-on approach simplifies the learning curve and allows for risk-free exploration and understanding of impact analysis.

Aside from speeding up the new-user learning curve, users can employ this simulated environment to illustrate to customers and prospects what reports they would expect to receive from the Smart Impact app. The feature is also useful when training consultants on how to run the Smart Impact app and navigate through its reports.

Enhanced test quality and efficiency

Non-Tricentis Tosca users often struggle with identifying the most impactful areas to test, leading to inefficiencies and overlooked issues. Now, these users can understand the effectiveness of their current testing strategies with the upgraded Test Quality Audit feature. With this feature, users can identify critical areas that need attention and thus focus their efforts on what matters most. For non-Tosca users, you can use the results of the tool to help scope your “migrate all SAP tests to Tosca” strategy and sunset any testing products that aren’t driving efficiency. And for Tosca users, it’s invaluable for demonstrating the effectiveness of Tosca by highlighting which tests could use extra assistance, guiding teams towards more efficient testing practices.

The Test Quality Audit can find objects that have changed within the Pipeline’s Analysis system in the last three months, identifying a minimal set of used, most-at-risk executables that would need to be tested to cover any changing objects within your tests. The most-at-risk objects are matched against test repositories to identify hits and gaps. From there, you can generate a Dashboard report that identifies the at-risk objects.

S/4HANA feature pack project type

SAP is soon rolling out an update to S/4HANA called feature packs, where new features will be bundled and released as mini upgrades. Change is always disruptive, and these changes can affect how your used executables behave in SAP. Additionally, custom code invoking these changed objects may no longer work as designed.

LiveCompare now has a project type that accelerates the effort and delivers quality while reducing risk when using these feature packs. The project includes apps that identify the changing objects that impact your used, standard, and custom SAP objects. Other apps in the project help accelerate the project to go-live while reducing risk.

With LiveCompare’s feature pack support, your organization can continue to migrate to S/4HANA and keep your SAP tests up to date. You can find the breakdown of what is included in the LiveCompare 2023.3 coverage for the S/4HANA feature pack in the LiveCompare 2023.3 Manual.

LiveCompare 2023.3 isn’t just an upgrade. It’s a strategic response to pressing challenges in SAP testing. By offering solutions for these specific pain points, Tricentis reaffirms its commitment to advancing SAP testing practices. Ready to overcome these challenges with LiveCompare 2023.3?
