Consumer goods companies operate in an environment defined by rapid product launches, strict regulatory compliance across global markets, and highly complex supply chain integrations — placing continuous pressure on QA teams to deliver quality at speed. Yet many SAP-driven consumer goods organizations still rely heavily on manual testing, an approach that struggles to scale alongside frequent releases and evolving compliance requirements.

QA plays a mission-critical role in the consumer goods industry, ensuring not only functional validation but also compliance with data privacy, financial reporting, labeling, and trade promotion regulations across regions. In large enterprises — where order management, distribution, pricing, promotions, and trade claims span multiple business units and systems — insufficient testing can lead to defects, security gaps, and costly operational disruption.

To keep pace with market demands, QA strategies must evolve toward continuous testing, integrated analytics, and automation-first execution. Tricentis, together with its partner GyanSys, helps consumer goods organizations modernize quality engineering through AI-driven test automation — accelerating digital transformation while enabling scalable, compliant, and intelligent testing across SAP landscapes.

The Tricentis partnership delivers quality at speed

GyanSys brings over 20 years of experience delivering enterprise-wide transformations, with deep domain expertise across consumer goods and regulated industries such as manufacturing, automotive, and life sciences. This industry knowledge enables GyanSys to deliver measurable outcomes with built-in scalability and compliance.

GyanSys’ partnership with Tricentis is centered on enabling quality at speed for complex ERP, cloud, and enterprise transformation programs. By leveraging Tricentis Tosca, GyanSys delivers scriptless, AI-driven test automation purpose-built for SAP-intensive environments. For consumer goods organizations constrained by slow, manual testing, Tosca provides a scalable path to faster releases and more reliable quality.

In addition, GyanSys leverages Tosca Distributed Execution (DEX) to overcome execution bottlenecks in large SAP landscapes. DEX enables unattended, parallel execution of regression suites across multiple environments — significantly reducing execution time while optimizing infrastructure and resource utilization. This capability is critical for global SAP programs operating on frequent release cycles.

Customers partnering with GyanSys consistently realize tangible benefits — including accelerated regression cycles, expanded automation coverage, and reduced QA effort — highlighting the combined impact of Tricentis technology and GyanSys’ quality engineering expertise.

“Quality engineering can no longer be reactive. Through our partnership with Tricentis, we are moving beyond traditional QA to AI-powered quality engineering embedding intelligence at the core of enterprise testing so our customers can transform with speed, stability, and confidence.”

Modernizing SAP Project Lifecycle Management testing for a global consumer goods leader

A Global 500 consumer goods company sought to modernize its SAP Project Lifecycle Management (PLM) testing as part of a broader S/4HANA transformation. Its legacy UFT-based framework could not keep pace with frequent global product launches or evolving compliance requirements. Without change, the organization faced the risk of an extended, resource-intensive post–go-live hypercare phase marked by business disruption and delayed value realization.

Working with Tricentis and GyanSys, the customer migrated regression testing to Tosca, automated BOM and PDF validations, and integrated testing into CI/CD pipelines. As test coverage expanded, DEX became a key enabler for scale, allowing large regression suites to be executed in parallel without increasing manual effort.
Like many consumer goods organizations, the customer faced several complexities that placed additional strain on its QA teams:

  • A broad product portfolio spanning food, beverages, personal care, and home cleaning — each with distinct seasonality and product lifecycles
  • A highly distributed supply chain across multiple geographies, suppliers, manufacturing sites, and distribution channels
  • Multiple consumer engagement touchpoints, including e-commerce platforms, retail stores, mobile apps, and social commerce

Achieving consistent quality at scale with Tosca

To address these challenges, the QA team required a more adaptable and scalable testing approach. GyanSys achieved this using Tosca’s model-based testing, which enables reusable test modules that can be rapidly adapted across product lines, regions, and business scenarios.

With Tosca, the customer can now:

  • Execute parameterized test cases, allowing the same test logic to run with different data sets for local languages, regional pricing, country-specific promotions, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain a centralized Tosca repository with version control and tagging for product categories, market-specific configurations, and compliance-critical flows
  • Validate end-to-end consistency across SAP PLM, MM, SD, and CRM to ensure alignment between supply chain, inventory, and customer data
  • Integrate with Azure DevOps (ADO) to enable automated, repeatable test execution across environments and geographies
  • Support multi-language testing using Tosca’s dynamic data sets and advanced UI object recognition

QA becomes a transformation enabler

This engagement reinforced a critical lesson: QA must be treated as a transformation enabler — not a support function. By standardizing on Tosca, the customer not only modernized regression testing but also established a reusable, future-ready automation framework that delivers sustained value beyond the initial S/4HANA rollout.
The integration of QA with Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines — using Tosca and Azure DevOps — significantly improved release velocity and defect detection. Tosca test cases are automatically triggered during build and deployment stages, eliminating manual cycles and enabling daily or even hourly validation. With DEX enabling fully unattended, parallel execution, QA teams can support faster and more frequent releases without scaling resources.

Measurable outcomes included:

  • 75% faster regression testing cycles
  • Over 90% automation coverage across PLM workflows
  • 50% reduction in QA costs through reusable automation assets
  • A scalable QA Center of Excellence (CoE) supporting future S/4HANA modules and business units

How AI is shaping the future of QA in the consumer goods industry

As consumer goods organizations accelerate AI adoption, GyanSys is seeing several trends reshape how QA is designed and executed:

  • AI-driven test automation to auto-generate test cases, predict defects, and optimize coverage
  • Cross-platform and API testing to ensure consistent quality across digital and physical channels
  • Proactive defect prevention through risk-based test prioritization and integration with analytics platforms such as Splunk and Dynatrace
  • Automated validation of regulatory workflows and traceability in SAP environments

GyanSys believes AI is poised to fundamentally transform QA through predictive analytics, intelligent test generation, and automated root cause analysis. Tosca’s AI driven model based approach — including self-healing automation — help teams adapt to UI and object changes, a critical advantage in large consumer goods environments with thousands of test cases. Advanced analytics also surface high-risk areas such as pricing inconsistencies, order-blocking scenarios, and compliance gaps earlier in the delivery lifecycle.

To prepare for these shifts, GyanSys is embedding AI-driven QA into ERP and cloud transformation programs, developing accelerators, and scaling customer QA Centers of Excellence. Together, Tricentis and GyanSys provide the intelligent quality platform foundation required for the future of enterprise testing.
