BBC’s Robotic Cameras Have A Mind Of Their Own

For those who predicted the rise of the robots…your worst fears may be coming true. This past winter BBC launched their £1 Billion studio update, furnishing the world renowned broadcasting house with all the most state of the art equipment. It wasn’t long before it became clear that the new robot cameras (used for filming the live in-studio news stories) had a mind of their own, panning around wildly or zooming in suddenly at news anchors on screen.

The resulting footage is hilarious, a refreshing break from the doomsday stories so often featured most heavily in the news. Furthering the issue, BBC News is reportedly planning on replacing their computer system, an additional overhaul that could affect the already glitchy system.
