3 Ways to Increase your Knowledge of Tricentis Tosca, Even When Time is Short

If we want to stay relevant and valuable in our industry, we need to keep active. As the shelf-life of knowledge decreases and the speed of software development increases, it’s important that we keep our finger on the pulse and actively seek out new knowledge.

However, that’s much easier said than done. Time for learning is not a luxury that everyone has and fitting it in can be a challenge; it’s not that you don’t want to learn – it’s finding the time! Below are my three recommend approaches for fitting in some learning, even when time is tight.

#1: Take part in a self-paced online training course

Our online courses are probably the most well-known offering for learning. The great thing about self-paced learning is that you have 24-hour access and can go as quickly or as slowly as you wish. You can block your calendar for half a day to complete a whole course, or you fit the lessons into your schedule by taking one lesson here and there. If a time-sensitive issue crops up, no worries – you can carry on again later.

#2: Tune in to a MOOC session hosted by Tricentis experts

Every-third Wednesday, the Tricentis Academy hosts a one-hour, live session with an Academy trainer and a Tricentis Expert. In the sessions we dive into a specific area of Tricentis Tosca and show you not only what it does, but also how you can use the functionality in your daily work. Throughout the session you can ask our experts questions about their topic. As a bonus and a thank you for your participation, you will also receive a free course voucher for joining the whole MOOC session.

The MOOCs are broadcast in two time zones (10am-11am CET, and then 5:30pm-6:30pm CET), but if you still can’t make it, don’t worry – all the previous sessions are also available for viewing on our website. Check out to check out our previous sessions and register for the upcoming ones.

#3: Subscribe to our YouTube channel

If your schedule is anything like mine, there’s not a lot of time left at the end of the day to expand your knowledge and learn something new. Sometimes it’s just easier to learn at the point-of-need. Whether you want to learn as and when you need the knowledge, or you just want to learn in smaller chunks, we have the solution for you.

The Tosca in a Heartbeat series are short, bite-sized videos that focus on a specific functionality of Tricentis Tosca, giving you a short demo of how to use it in your day-to-day work. Most videos take just a few minutes and walk you through how to use the feature. We are constantly uploading new material so make sure to subscribe to your channel to keep yourself up-to-date with Tricentis Tosca. Check out our playlist for the topics we currently cover:

Does your employer block YouTube? We thought of that one too. Head to our Learning Portal and you will find the Resource Center, where you can access our Heartbeat videos as well as previous MOOCs. You can find more information on how to access the Resource Center in our Knowledge Base:

What to do next

The way to success is to set a goal. If you are serious about learning, we need a plan – but let’s start off simple. For example: If you spend 10 minutes of lunch break or your commute to/from work each day and devote it to learning, that’s almost an hour by the end of the week. It’s a small, manageable habit that has big potential.

Happy Learning!
